Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Racine & Kenosha Counties brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Founded in 1988 as a independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest nonprofit home builder worldwide.
Who we serve
We believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live.
We build homes alongside hard working, low to moderate-income families in the community and then sell the homes to the families at an affordable price.
Participants demonstrate they have:
Need for shelter
Ability to pay
Willingness to partner
How it works
We are a non-profit housing developer offering families in need of housing “a hand up, not a hand out.”
Upon approval, partner families then put 300 hours of “sweat equity” into building their home and their neighbors homes.
They purchase their home from HFHRKC and pay an affordable mortgage.
Mortgage payments are then placed in the “fund for humanity”, helping fund the construction of additional homes.
