Seeking to put God’s love into action, Racine Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Founded in 1987 as a independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest nonprofit home builder worldwide, Racine Habitat for Humanity has served more than 100 families in Racine.

Who we serve

We believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live.

We build homes alongside hard working, low to moderate-income families in the community and then sell the homes to the families at an affordable price.

Participants demonstrate they have:

Need for shelter

Ability to pay

Willingness to partner

How it works

  1. We are a non-profit housing developer offering families in need of housing “a hand up, not a hand out.”

  2. Upon approval, partner families then put 300 hours of “sweat equity” into building their home and their neighbors homes.

  3. They purchase their home from Racine Habitat and pay an affordable mortgage.

  4. Mortgage payments are then placed in the “fund for humanity”, helping fund the construction of additional homes.
